Measuring what exists, documenting the phenomenon. Assumption 1: the effect of the building is more interesting than the building itself. Assumption 2: an inclusive approach is more interesting than an exclusive approach. Because all human experience is filtered through the senses, they are primary tool of the architect. Relevant architecture begins with what we know and what we can critically observe. Relevant investigations clarify, make more vivid, and heighten our awareness to the existing latent possibilities of any given condition. You are given a condition that is invariably loaded with such conditions: programmatic, cultural, phenomenological.
